Our Services
Financial Support
Fairfax FISH provides financial assistance to an individual or family once during a twelve-month period. Almost all of the aid goes to working families where adults are employed and are experiencing a temporary situation wherein they need help. The emergency assistance is to ensure these individuals remain self-sufficient. Working with Social Services FISH provides financial aid for rent; mortgage payments; utilities such as electric, water, gas, or heating oil; prescriptions; gasoline; food; baby formula and diapers; adult nutritional supplements and diapers; and medical/dental treatments if approved by the council.

Clothing Closet
FISH operates a walk-in clothing closet. No referral is necessary to use the clothing closet. It is located in the Fairfax Presbyterian Church at 10723 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. It is open to provide clothing on every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am to 12 noon. It is also open the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 am to 12 noon. It is closed on holidays and inclement weather. Donations of in-season clean, new, or gently used clothing are welcomed during these same hours.
Gasoline
Fairfax FISH funds a gasoline ministry with the cooperation of two local service stations. This helps clients with getting to work, job interviews or training, and medical or mental health appointments.
